Training

The Cardiff BID business plan committed to strengthening ties between education and business through training, as well as utilising our collective buying power to negotiate discounts. We have provided some training course spaces free of charge and these were very well received. Now we want to hear from you as to what training you would like to see. We are asking businesses to complete a survey which will evaluate which training courses businesses prioritise most – we will then look at delivering the courses with the highest demand.

The survey is available in English and Welsh and the closing date for completion is 11th August 2017,

Mystery Shopping

We are launching a mystery shopping project which will be a free opportunity for BID members to obtain objective feedback on their customer service. The businesses coming out on top of their sectors will be crowned winners at an award ceremony later in the year and training will be offered to businesses on the most common themes that need improvement. If you would like your business to be involved please email us info@cardiffbid.com to find out next steps.

Castle Quarter Superfast Broadband Pilot Project

Cardiff is a modern city but in the Castle Quarter, out of date internet infrastructure is holding businesses back. Cardiff BID have invested £44,000 in upgrading the area to Superfast Broadband by Spring 2018. This commitment has allowed us to leverage a further £60,000 from BT delivering excellent value for money to levy payers.

Businesses in the following streets benefit from the Superfast Broadband project: Castle Street, Dukes Street, St Johns, Church Street, High Street, Quay Street, Womanby Street, Castle and High Street Arcades

If you have any questions about this please contact us.

Free Training

As part of the Business Plan BID businesses were promised the ‘opportunity to benefit from training, research and academic opportunities’. We kick started this initiative with free training in First Aid and Conflict Resolution. This opportunity was taken up by over 10 businesses who were delighted with the qualifications their staff now have, at no cost to their businesses, because of the BID.

If there are training courses you would like the BID to facilitate at a reduced cost for your business, let us know on the contact us page and we’ll see what we can do!
